Platinum MMO Coated Titanium Anodes

General information on Platinized MMO Anode

A platinized titanium anode is a layer of platinum or platinum metal oxides coated on a titanium substrate. It is lasting, non-consumable, and insoluble in the electrolyte, It is widely used in the electroplating and cathodic protection field.

Our platinized titanium anode by adopting a thermal decomposition process to get a dense wear-resistant layer of platinum coating. The anode surface is modified to improve the adhesion of platinum and to significantly improve the uniformity of coating thickness, also reduce the coating porosity imparting greater acid resistance to the anode.

Parameter:

Description: Platinized Titanium Anode

pH level: between 1 and 12

Platinum layer thickness: 0.1 – 20 µ or as desired

The maximum content of fluorides: 50mg/L

Maximum allowable current: 75 A/dm2

Maximum allowable operating voltage: 12

Consumption rate in seawater: 8 ~ 16 mg / A year

Application

  • Horizontal plating, pulse plating
  • Precious metal electroplating – e.g. Au, Pt, Pd, Rh, and Ru baths
  • Non-ferrous metal electroplating – e.g. Ni, Cu, Sn, Zn, and non-fluoride Cr baths
  • Printed circuit boards electroplating
  • Impressed Current Cathodic Protection.

Advantage

  • High corrosion resistance
  • High dimensional stability and load resistance
  • High levels of adhesion of the precious metal coating
  • Improved resistance to acid attack
  • Increased throughput with reduced plating times
